Dear Friends of United for a Fair Economy in Oregon,
Oregonians are facing a harmful ballot initiative, Measure 59, which would increase economic inequality and cut deeply into the state’s budget for education, health care, public safety and other vital public services. Please Vote NO on Measure 59!
Measure 59 would allow an unlimited deduction of federal income taxes on Oregon income tax returns.
If Measure 59 passes:
Who BENEFITS?...Only high-income families!
- 97% of the benefits would go to families with incomes over $82,200.
- 3 out of 4 Oregonians will receive less than $1.
Who LOSES?...EVERYBODY!
- Measure 59 would cut $2,400,000,000 ($2.4 billion) out of funding for essential services like health care, senior services, education and public safety.
- Taxes and fees would have to be raised on everybody else to make up for the lost revenue.
Please Vote NO on Measure 59 and share this email with family, friends, and colleagues.
